ClearSpec LLC is a manufacturer and supplier of advanced disposable speculums designed to enhance women’s healthcare and enable health care providers to improve patient care. Founded in 2011, ClearSpec launched its first product, the ClearSpec® Single Use Vaginal Speculum, in May 2014.

Founder and CEO

Navroze Mehta, Founder and CEO of ClearSpec LLC, has 15 years of experience in developing early stage medical devices. Most recently he was Managing Partner of MDI Partners LLC where he used a unique innovation and development framework to bring devices to market. One of those spin outs is ClearSpec LLC. Prior to MDI Partners, he was the Founder and CEO of NovaVision Inc., a venture-backed company that invented a neurostimulation devices to restore vision in stroke and traumatic brain injury patients. Before that he was President and CEO of Skinstore a successful B2C company. Navroze is a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO), past chair of the Americas Gateway Chapter, and served as Regional Chair of the Economic Development Network. He was also a member of the Ashoka Support Network, a leader in the field of social entrepreneurship. Navroze also co-founded Mela Artisans Inc. with his daughter Sonali Mehta Rao. Mela Artisans is a novel social for profit enterprise that was formed to create a global marketplace for artisans worldwide with a goal of preserving the livelihood of artisans. Navroze also served on the Board of Directors of Mission Markets Inc., a company that is focused on connecting impact investors to mission-focused organizations. Navroze received an MBA from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Sydenham College at the University of Bombay, India.

Serving in this capacity as a Sales, Marketing, and Commercial Operations executive, John brings extensive experience in channel management as well as bringing medical devices to market in multiple manufacturer and distributor leadership positions, both domestically and internationally. Prior to Impact Medical Strategies, John served in a variety of leadership roles at Welch Allyn including Sales, Channel Management, Customer Care, ERP Implementation, Quality and Regulatory, and General Management for businesses in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific. Most recently he served on the Executive Committee and as Vice President, Sales and Marketing at AliMed developing and executing go-to-market strategies for print, digital, field and inside sales covering Acute Care, Post-Acute Care, Ambulatory Care, Extended Care and Consumer markets in both direct and indirect channels. John received a B.A. from the State University of New York at Geneseo where he was also inducted into the University’s Athletics Hall of Fame for Men’s Ice Hockey. His education also includes the University of Rochester William E. Simon Graduate School of Business, Rochester, NY (Senior Management) and the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Sydney, Australia (General Management). He is a past member of the Healthcare Industry Distributors Association (www.hida.org) Acute Care Advisory Council, an organization focused on improving and advancing the value of distribution in healthcare.

Dr. Francois is currently the Director for Public Health Services and Public Health Emergency Officer at the Naval Health Clinic in Corpus Christi, Texas. His previous positions include: Immediate Past Director of Public Health and State Health Officer for the State of Georgia; Assistant Secretary of the Louisiana Office of Public Health; Assistant Professor in the Colleges of Medicine and Public Health, University of South Florida (USF); and perhaps most notably, Secretary and State Health Officer of the Florida Department of Health from 2005 to 2007. Dr. François is the recipient of numerous awards including the Presidential Meritorious Award from the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, Outstanding New American Award from Catholic Charities Legal Services, Outstanding Leadership of a Faculty Advisor (USF), induction into the University of Central Florida (UCF) Athletics Hall of Fame, and several alumni awards from USF, UCF, and Tallahassee Community College. Dr. Francois is the inventor of ClearSpec®. He earned his MA in Exercise Physiology from the University of Central Florida, and his MD, MSPH, and Ph.D. (Toxicology/Public Health) degrees from USF.

Steven J Fern, M.D., FACOG is a board-certified Obstetrician/ Gynecologist in Florida that has been in practice for almost eighteen years. Dr. Fern specializes in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. He also has expertise in the management of excessive menstrual bleeding and in procedures such as laparoscopic hysterectomy, hysteroscopic resection of fibroids, and endometrial ablation. He is a partner of OB/GYN Specialists of the Palm Beaches with an office located in Wellington, Florida.

In 2008 Dr. Fern started a company called Fern Innovations for the sole purpose of developing products that aid health care practitioners and their patients.  He is the creator of KleenGel, and serves as an advisor for various other medical device companies.
